Lenin House Museum opens an exhibition of ancient Bashkir crafts in Ufa

The "Ancient Bashkir Crafts by Modern Masters" exhibition opens in Ufa. The project was organized by the V.I.Lenin House-Museum together with the Crafts Chamber of the Republic of Bashkortostan.
The exhibition presents products from leather, wood, stone, carpet weaving, embroidery, patchwork, felt felting, ceramics, bee-keeping.
Unique creative works belong to the masters-artists of the “Salavat” studio, the “Artel”, the “Lapa” creative association represented by the artists Sergey and Galina Pavlovs, Roza Yuldashbaeva - a recognized master, whose art products are in private collections in Russia, Germany, Iraq, Iran, Poland, and the USA.
“The exhibition is timed to coincide with the Republic Day and demonstrates the evolution of the ancient crafts and trades of the Bashkirs into the modern hand-made industry. From generation to generation, from master to master, people passed on secrets and knowledge, preserving and enriching the culture and identity of the ancient people inhabiting both sides of the Ural ridge,” the press service of the V.I. Lenin House-Museum informs.
One of the interesting exhibits of the exhibition is a painting by Bashkir stone-cutters, in which all shades of jasper are used with rare inclusions of azure stone, aventurine, violane, dumortierite. Based on the sketch of the Bashkir artist Aliya Bayramgulova, the painting tells about the origin, history, traditions, and worldview of the Bashkirs.
Birsk craftsmen Sergey and Galina Pavlovs presented works from a valuable species of wood - burr, which is used in the manufacture of artistic furniture, interior decoration of luxury cars and the creation of designer interior items.
The exposition is open from October 1 to 23, 2020.
