Exhibition presented unique products and bone artifacts from "Settlement of Ufa-II"

The "Bone Carving Master" exhibition from the funds of the Republican historical and cultural museum-reserve "Ancient Ufa" has opened in Ufa. The exhibition presents unique items and bone artifacts found during excavations on the territory of the "Ufa-II Settlement" archeological monument.
Among the numerous bone items from the "Ufa-II Settlement", the most representative collection - items of weapons and hunting equipment - arrowheads, bow lining, harness details were represented there.
"Our cultural heritage objects are conventionally divided into objects of architecture and archeology. Today we are just showing those artifacts that have become the result of the activities of archaeologists, the work of our scientists - researchers from Ufa, Moscow in the territory of the "Ufa-II Settlement ", said Oleg Polstovalov, head of the Department for State Protection of Cultural Heritage Sites in Bashkortostan.
The head of the Archaeological Heritage Department of Cultural Heritage State Protection Directorate RB Yevgeny Ruslanov stressed that the Museum-Reserve "Ancient Ufa" was a unique institution with a huge collection of archaeological artifacts, the largest and pivotal for the era of the early Middle Ages, the monument "Ufa-II Settlement".
"This monument is significant for the scientific community, work with it has been going on for many decades, and the huge array of materials that are available here, consists of hundreds of thousands of finds, which were reflected in archaeological works a long time ago," stressed a researcher at the archeology department of Migration of Peoples and the Early Middle Ages of the Institute of Archeology of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow) Oleg Radyush.
Director of the Republican Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve "Ancient Ufa" Gaukhar Battalova noted that more than 40 exhibitions had been held since the foundation of the institution. Each of them was devoted to a separate topic. Thus, exhibitions on medieval fashion, jewelry, ceramics, and pottery were organized. This exhibition allows getting acquainted with the amazing world of the ancient bone carving art of the inhabitants of the Ufa peninsula of the early Middle Ages.
