Emanuela Sforza: "Rudolf Nureyev signed his photo taken by me"

Emanuela Sforza is one of the most respected women photographers in Italy, a guest of honor at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Information and Photography of the city of Senigallia, which is considered the "city of photography" in Italy. More than a hundred of her solo exhibitions have taken place in Italy, France, Switzerland, Canada, and other countries.
However, her greatest achievement was the photographic chronicle of the world of classical and modern dance, which she captured from the late 1970s of the last century to the present day. For these works, she was awarded the Positano and Venice Photography Club prizes. They presented such famous dancers of their time as Luciana Savignano, Paolo Bortoluzzi, Alessandra Ferri, Marcia Heidi, Daniel Lommel, Jorge Donna, and many others.
All these names say a lot to connoisseurs of classical art, but one name is more important for the inhabitants of Bashkortostan - Rudolf Nureyev. His previously unknown photos were recently published at the personal exhibition of Emanuela Sforza in the picturesque art town of Archevia, in the Italian region of Marche, with which Bashkortostan has long been developing cooperation. Moreover, our acquaintance with Emanuela took place thanks to our fellow countrymen who settled in these parts - Lyuba and Vyacheslav Kovalenko, a promising young sculptor who dreams of erecting a monument to Rudolf Nureyev in Italy.
Read about how the love for ballet brought the Italian photographer and the great dancer Rudolf Nureyev together, about his photographs that were not previously shown in Russia, read in the section "Countrymen".
