Duet from Bashkortostan participates in Bolshoi Ballet TV show

Artists of the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater Alisa Alekseeva and Airat Masegutov took part in the recording of the fourth season of the Bolshoi Ballet television show. On the "Culture" channel project, they performed two variations and adagio from the ballet Crane Song by Lev Stepanov and Zagir Ismagilov (libretto by Faizi Gaskarov, choreography by Nina Anisimova and Khalyaf Safiullin).

The Bolshoi Ballet is the first ballet competition for young performers in the history of Russian television. Eight pairs of young ballet dancers from different regions of Russia - St. Petersburg, Voronezh, the Republic of Buryatia, Yekaterinburg, the Republic of Bashkortostan, Krasnoyarsk, Saratov, and the Komi Republic are taking part in the current season of the project.

The winners of the new season of the Bolshoi Ballet project will compete for the main prize - the Crystal Pointe. The winners of the award will be Best Female Dancer, Best Male Dancer, and Best Duo participants.

The goal of the project is to discover new ballet stars for a broad audience, to allow young artists to express themselves, demonstrate not only impeccable technique but also dramatic talent, to present the rich heritage of classical ballet and the best examples of modern choreography. The project started in 2012.

As the Bashinform News Agency previously reported, our fellow countryman, twice Grammy winner, People's Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Republic of Tatarstan Ildar Abdrazakov and prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theater, Etoile of the ballet troupe of Milan's La Scala Theater, People's Artist of Russia Svetlana Zakharova will host the event.

The jury consists of the prima ballerina of the Mariinsky Theater, People's Artist of Russia Diana Vishneva, People's Artist of Russia Farukh Ruzimatov, Honored Artist of Russia, laureate of international competitions choreographer Alexei Miroshnichenko, art director of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater Denis Matvienko.
