Bashkortostan prepares for World Folkloriada in 2021

First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government RB Andrey Nazarov held a working meeting on the holding of the VI World Folkloriada in 2021.
The VI World Folkloriada was supposed to be held in Bashkortostan in the second half of July 2020. However, like many other large-scale events, it was postponed to 2021 due to the pandemic.
In agreement with the International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts, it was decided to hold the Folkloriada in the first ten days of July next year.
According to the information presented by the Minister of Culture RB Amina Shafikova, groups from 80 countries are expected to participate. As of July 15, 2020, 57 countries have registered at the event. It is expected that in total, about 2500 people will come to the World Folkloriada in Ufa.
Seven festival districts have been identified, including 34 cities and districts of the republic, where the visiting part of the Folkloriada will take place. Andrey Nazarov noted that despite the fact that several preparation activities have already been carried out, the remaining time should be used as efficiently as possible.
“Many guests will come to the republic, and we need to show it the best as possible, as we do have something to show. Now everyone should coordinate their efforts so that the Folkloriada-2021 will be held in Bashkortostan at the highest level,” the First Deputy Prime Minister stressed.
