Screenings may resume in Russian cinemas on July 15 - Russian Culture Ministry

On July 15, screenings in cinemas may resume in Russia. This was announced on June 25 as part of a working trip to Volgograd by the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova.

The head of the department believes that it would be appropriate to decide on the resumption of their work simultaneously in all regions. She said that there was ongoing work with Rospotrebnadzor in relation to cinemas.

“We weekly communicate with Russian copyright holders and producers who are engaged in the placement and timely release, and, of course, with the networks of Russian cinemas, their largest representatives, in order to properly organize the process,” the minister said.

Olga Lyubimova noted that all cinemas must be open for the movie premiere; otherwise, problems and risks for copyright holders are possible.

The final decision will be made comprehensively based on the epidemiological situation in the largest сities of the country.
