Granite-bronze monument to front-line soldiers is unveiled in Ufa

On the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow, a monument to the heroes who went to the front in the summer of 1941 was unveiled on the square of the Ufa Railway Station. According to the Head of the Republic, Radiy Khabirov, the place was chosen for a good reason.
“Hundreds of thousands of our compatriots departed from here to the front accompanied by the “Farewell of Slavianka” march. Bashkir, Russian, Tatar, Chuvash, Mari, and other songs sounded on the platform. Fathers, husbands, sons, daughters left their families, sincerely believing that all of them would certainly return home alive and with Great Victory. However, this war was merciless. To our great grief, 322 thousand of our compatriots remained forever on the battlefields. But due to the courage and bravery of our soldiers, the enemy was defeated. And again, it was here where trains arrived with victorious soldiers in the summer of 1945”, said the Head of Bashkiria.
The granite-bronze sculptural composition is a whole ensemble, reflecting the theme of farewell to the front in 1941. Radiy Khabirov noted that the republic was waiting for this monument. Now all residents and visitors will be able to approach the monument and honor the memory of the heroes.
The memorial in memory of those who went to the front of the Great Patriotic War includes nine figures. All of them are dressed in different national costumes. The art object was made by the sculptor Vadim Kirillov together with the team of authors.
