Gulnaz Galimullina's report from "Red Zone" won competition devoted to COVID-19

The results of the International contest "Remember the moments: fighting with COVID-19", dedicated to the selection of creative works on youth combatting the epidemic around the world, have been summed up. The competition accepted articles, videos, photos, and music.
One of the winners of the national stage was our countrywoman, director and photographer Gulnaz Galimullina, who lives and works in Moscow.
Gulnaz Galimullina, for her project, filmed a «Red Zone» report in a Moscow hospital. The most striking part of her work was photos of the eyes of doctors, paramedics, and nurses - portraits before diving into the so-called "dirty zone".
"I did not want to shoot any mask marks, nor highly artistic or "psychological" portraits. The former is tied to an individual, the latter to a photographer. It is just a fixation. The gaze is open, not constrained by anything, not dictated, not directed. This is the look of a person who is waiting for a meeting with the unknown, with danger. It is a clean shot of personality for me," Gulnaz Galimullina commented on her series of shots.
The contest "Remember the moments: fighting with COVID-19" received more than 1000 works from all over Russia. According to the results of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, the 13 best were identified, the authors of which will be invited to China to participate in the international youth program next year.
