Salavat Yulaev's birthday was celebrated in city of his last refuge in Estonia

The 266th anniversary of the birth of the national hero of the Bashkir people was celebrated in the small Estonian town of Paldiski, where Salavat Yulaev spent the last 25 years of his life.
Suras from the Koran were cited, the national Bashkir instrument – kurai was played, flowers were planted at the monument to the hero. The head of the "Agisel" Bashkir cultural society in Tallinn Fluza Khairullina shared with the Bashinform News Agency.
In Estonia, in the small town of Paldiski (former Rogervik fortress), a monument to the Bashkir national hero Salavat Yulaev was erected. A copy of the bust of Salavat Yulaev by Tamara Nechaeva was made from cast iron, the weight of the bust is 214 kg, and the height is one meter.
The memorial plaque is installed with inscriptions in Estonian, Russian, and English on the building of the former city hall of Paldiski - the former Rogervik fortress, in which Salavat Yulaev spent the last period of his life from 1775 to 1800. The "Agisel" Bashkir cultural society has been keeping for 20 years the memory of the national hero of the Bashkir people, Salavat Yulaev, who, together with his father, Yulai Aznalin, was serving his life in prison in the Rogervik fortress of the Estland province. Due to the active work of the Estonian Bashkir diaspora in Paldiski today, every resident knows about Salavat Yulaev, whose monument was erected in their city.
