American animator from Pixar A.S. will be consulting Bashkortostan Film Studio

The famous cartoon artist 35-year-old Greg Perkins moved from America to Ufa. In Bashkiria, he will be advising the Bashkortostan Film Studio, the Expert-Bashkortostan newspaper reports.

He was born in the Australian city of Perth, but in Bashkiria, everyone sees him as the guy next door. It so happened that from a British mother and a Malaysian father, he got an amazing appearance - a real Bashkir. Greg admits that in Ufa, they often begin to speak Bashkir with him and are very surprised when he answers in English. Therefore, today he learns not only Russian but also Bashkir language.

"This is another important factor that made me choose Ufa as my place of residence," says Greg Perkins. "Here is the only place on earth, where not only I feel belonging to, but everyone recognizes me as such."

Greg lived most of his conscious life in San Francisco. He had a degree in 3D modeling and worked for the world-famous Pixar Animation Studios and other Silicon Valley studios. For example, Greg participated in the creation of the animated films "How to Train Your Dragon 3", "The Incredibles 2", "Onward". He also shot his own 3D short film, "Scaredy Bat," about a bat and a frog. This cartoon was shown at all the leading film festivals in the USA, and Greg became a famous figure in the animation industry.

Now, Greg models mythical characters and prints them on a 3D printer. These figurines became a big hit in the animation - they can be seen in all major studios. And the characters invented by Greg became the heroes of a children's book. He is developing bioplastics for his models that can replace packaging from non-degradable materials.

"Nowadays, you can work remotely from anywhere in the world," explains Greg Perkins. "I chose Ufa as the city for my residence, because my wife Eugeniya is from here. We visited the capital of Bashkiria several times, and I saw that my wife was much happier here than in America. That's why we have decided to move here forever."

Soon the young couple will have a son, and Greg is sure that Ufa is the best place to raise children.
