307 articles written about Bashkortostan and Bashkir people in spring of 2020

The international competition of Wikimedia CEE Spring 2020.28 of local language Wikipedia volunteers, including in the Bashkir language, ended on June 1. For the spring of 2020, a total of 16,686 encyclopedic articles on essential life topics of countries and peoples were created.

307 articles were written about Bashkortostan and the Bashkir people. As in previous years, most of the articles were created in the Ukrainian Wikipedia - 92. Slightly less, 90 - in Belarussian one. Wikipedia in Turkish - included 43 "Bashkir articles", Azerbaijani and Polish - 13 each, Latvian - 10, Hungarian and Slovak - 7, Estonian - 6.

"Articles in Polish about Arthur Sultangulov and Emil Mulyukov, ski jumpers from Ufa are published. An article appeared in the Azerbaijani language about the Akbuzat Hippodrome", the Wiki volunteers report.

Bashkir volunteers, and among them the famous "wiki-grandmothers," created 182 articles. Most of them, 33, are dedicated to Austria, the Austrians, 20 – to Hungary and Hungarian culture.

The competition will continue in 2021.
