Several commemorative events are prepared for Rudolf Nureyev's anniversary in Ufa

Tomorrow, March 17, the whole world will celebrate the 82nd anniversary of the birth of the legendary artist, our fellow countryman Rudolf Nureyev (1938 - 1993). Cultural and art institutions of the republic are preparing events dedicated to this date.

On March 17, at 2.15 pm, according to tradition, flowers will be laid on the bas-relief of the outstanding dancer located on the building of the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater in Pushkin Street.

A presentation of the "Rudolf Nureyev. The Island Of His Dreams" film will be held at 2.30 pm. As part of the presentation, a meeting with the author, producer, and film director Evgenia Tirdatova (Moscow) will take place.

"Rudolf Nureyev. The Island of His Dreams" is a full-length documentary telling about a little-known period in the life of the dancer and choreographer associated with Turkey, where he wanted to have his house, his own island. This film opened the ArtDocFilm International Festival in Moscow, became the winner of the White Elephant special prize and the laureate of the Window to Europe Festival.

A photo exhibition composed of photographs from the Ufa periods, film frames, and copies of documents will open in the theater Hermitage and the lobby.

In the evening, at 7.00 pm, the opening of the Nureevsky Days project is planned. The Bashkir Choreographic College will present a gala concert.

On March 18, the M.V. Nesterov Bashkir Art Museum will also host the presentation of the documentary "Rudolf Nureyev. Island of his Dreams" and meeting with the author. The beginning is at 2.00 pm in the conference hall of the museum.

At 5 pm, students of the Vocal Department Art Ufa State Institute of Arts will perform the arias and romances of Russian and foreign composers.
