Group of specialists will clear more than 300 inscriptions from Idrisovskaya Cave in Bashkiria

In Bashkiria, a team of specialists is preparing to clear the Idrisovskaya Cave from graffiti left by vandals. The number of inscriptions exceeds 300.

According to the Research and Production Center for the Protection and Use of Immovable Objects of Cultural Heritage of Bashkortostan, Eudald Guillamet (Principality of Andorra), who cleared the inscriptions from Shulgan-Tash Cave in the Burzyansky district, will again supervise the works.

The Idrisovskaya Cave is located in the Salavatsky district. This is a monument of archeology of federal significance. In the 1930s, local historian Mikhail Kasyanov discovered six anthropomorphic images made by red ocher in its entrance section. Currently, researchers have recorded 14 groups of rock paintings in the vicinity of the cave, presumably related to the Eneolithic period.

Recall, earlier, the Bashinform News Agency reported that the center specialists, together with the employees of the Shulgan-Tash Cave Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve, traveled for a preliminary examination of the monument.

Clearing works will be carried out as part of a project initiated by the management of Yangan-Tau Geopark.
