"Chaliapin in Ufa" book presentation will be held in Ufa on great singer's anniversary

On February 13, the whole world celebrates the birthday of the great Russian singer Fedor Chaliapin. This year its the 147th anniversary of his birth. By tradition, the event will be held in Ufa, where the artist's opera debut took place.
On February 8, the traditional fifth evening of the Russian romance will take place at the Russian Assembly of Bashkortostan.
On February 13, at 3.00 pm, a flower laying ceremony will be carried out at the monument to Fedor Chaliapin in Lenin Street, near the Concert Hall that bears his name. The event will be attended by representatives of the cultural community of the city.
At 5.00 pm, the presentation of the "Chaliapin in Ufa" book is planned at the Sergei Aksakov House-Museum. The authors of the book are the former and current chairmen of the Ufa branch of the Chaliapinsky Center, researchers, and popularizers of his work Galina Belskaya and Elena Zamriy.
The book tells about the beginning of the scenic and creative activity of the great Russian bass, about his stay in Ufa in 1890-1891 and becoming an opera singer, about people and events of that period. The publication reflected the memories of his relatives and friends, archival and modern photo illustrations.
In the near future, an exposition dedicated to the life and work of the singer will open in the Ufa History Museum.
On February 17, the Chaliapin Hall will host a concert of choral church music, the Choir of the Cyril and Methodius Church of Ufa (art director, regent - Honored Artist RB Tatyana Goncharenko).
Elena Zamriy noted that in Ufa preparations began for a significant date - the 150th anniversary of Fedor Chaliapin, which will take place in 2023. A plan of anniversary events is being drawn up. One of the topical issues - the organization of the Chaliapin Museum, which could become cultural tourism sight, remains relevant.
