Radiy Khabirov announced voting results for new name of Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater

Radiy Khabirov summed up the results of the online voting for the name of the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater. Earlier, the Bashinform News Agency reported that the Head of Bashkortostan was asked to give the theater the name of the outstanding dancer Rudolf Nureyev.

“About 80% of you said that it should be named after the legend of world culture, our great countryman Rudolf Nureyev, that, frankly speaking, does not surprise me at all. About 30 thousand people took part in the voting; this is the highest representativeness. Moreover, these figures appeared in the first minute and were stable in all social media. Nevertheless, the decision cannot yet be considered adopted,” Radiy Khabirov posted on social media.

Next, the Commission will work on the issues of the perpetuation of the memory and honor of outstanding figures who have made a significant contribution to the development of the Republic of Bashkortostan, where experts will express their views. The Head of the Republic promised to announce the results of the Commission’s work.

Recall that the Bashkir Choreographic College and the International Festival of Ballet Art are named after Rudolf Nureyev in Ufa.
