Turkish Ambassador to Russia visited monument to Bashkortostan national poet Mustai Karim

On January 23, during an official visit to Ufa, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to the Russian Federation Mehmet Samsar and Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Kazan Ismet Erikan visited the monument to the national poet of Bashkortostan Mustai Karim.
According to the director of the Mustai Karim Foundation, daughter of the poet Alfiya Karimova, Mustai Karim had many friends among Turkish writers and poets.
“In Moscow, he met the great Turkish poet Nazim Hikmet,” Alfiya Mustaevna noted. “Mustai Karim first visited Turkey in 1966 with his friend Konstantin Simonov, it was a long trip. Since then, close friendships connected him with the famous Turkish satirist Aziz Nesin, writer Orhan Kemal. He was close to the writer Suad Dervish, was friends with the artist Ibrahim Balaban. His great friend was Nevzat Ustyun, who translated the book of his poems, and he became known to Turkish readers".
She also added that Mustai Karim's poetry collections were published several times in Turkey.
On January 23, a working meeting of Mehmet Samsar with the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov was held in Ufa, with the participation of Ismet Erikan. The parties discussed the prospects for the implementation of joint projects in various sectors of the economy and social sphere.
