"Ufa province governor Grigory Sergeevich Aksakov" exhibition opened in Ufa

An exhibition dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the first governor of the Ufa province Grigory Sergeyevich Aksakov (1820-1891), which made a great contribution to the socio-economic, cultural and spiritual development of the Bashkir region, opened in the National Archives of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Recall that this year in Bashkiria, according to the decree of the head of the republic, the 200th anniversary of the first governor of the Ufa province G.S. Aksakov is solemnly celebrated.
The opening ceremony was attended by employees of the S.T. Aksakov Memorial House Museum, students of the Aksakov Gymnasium No. 11 of Ufa, historians, and workers of the National Archives RB.
The Deputy Head of the Office for Archives of the Republic of Bashkortostan O.R. Yusupov and Director of the National Archives of the Republic of Bashkortostan G. G. Khayritdinov addressed to the meeting with a welcoming speech.
The famous writer, chairman of the Aksakov Foundation, vice president of the International Fund for Slavic Writing and Culture, secretary of the Board of the Union of Writers of Russia M.A. Chvanov delivered a speech too. In particular, Mikhail Andreevich emphasized that “thanks to the initiative of G.S. Aksakov an independent Ufa province was formed".
Senior Researcher at the S.T. Aksakov Memorial House Museum T.E. Petrova spoke about the activities of Governor G.S. Aksakov, the construction of the Aksakov People’s House and other interesting facts from the life of the Aksakov family.
The Deputy Head of the Document Publishing Department, F.G. Zakirova acquainted the guests with the exhibits. Visitors showed great interest in the portraits of Aksakov's relatives - father, well-known Russian writer Sergei Timofeevich Aksakov, mother Olga Semenovna Aksakova (nee Zaplatina), brothers Konstantin and Ivan - leaders and ideologists of the Slavophile movement, daughter Olga Grigoryevna Aksakova.
Photos of the Gostiny Dvor, documents on the election of Grigory Sergeyevich as an honorary member of the Provincial Museum Committee, the establishment of which in 1864 Aksakov contributed to, were also featured there.
At the end of the event, a tour of departments and archives was organized for guests and students of the Aksakov gymnasium.
