Alexander Sidyakin: We will support civilized development of youth subcultures

On December 11, artists Alisher Morgenstern, Vitaliy Alexandrov (project “Loud”), Danil Gareev (project “Krek”) and the organizers of the All-Russian rap festival “New Atlanta” met with the Chief of Staff of the Head of the Region Alexander Sidyakin and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bashinform JSC Rostislav Murzagulov.

In recent years, Ufa has become the unofficial capital of Russian rap. Several dozen artists have become very popular. The number of views of many videos, including of those who attended the meeting, have reached 30-50 million.

“This audience is very important for the work of state and municipal authorities as these people and their fans have their interests and they should be promoted so that they have opportunities for their self-fulfillment”, said Alexander Sidyakin. “The state will support civilized development, including one of the informal youth subcultures.”

The present musicians expressed an opinion that the existing stigma about rap culture can be easily broken if festivals for youth are held in which they could take part. They expressed their readiness to support such positive trends in the youth subculture.

The New Atlanta rap festival will be held at the Ufa Arena on December 11. It will feature Morgenstern, Face, Loud, Basic Boy, KURT92, Hearthsnow, Krek, and others.
