UFA, 5 December 2019. /Bashinform News Agency, Azat Gizatullin/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/.
The Mari historical and cultural center will open in the village of Mishkino, Mishkinsky district, in February 2020.
Mari people make up 71% of the population of the area. During a working trip, the Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov examined the course of the cultural object reconstruction.
The representative of the contracting organization, director of Uralspetsstroy LLC, Artem Simenteev, said that the reconstruction of this building had been included in the project “100 objects for the 100th anniversary of Bashkortostan” with a total construction cost of 52 million rubles. However, according to the head of the Mishkinsky district administration Pavel Trapeznikov, the funds allocated for the overhaul of the building are not enough, due to new types of construction works that were not previously included in the design and estimate documentation.
Currently, an additional 20 million rubles are needed. The issue has been repeatedly discussed at the Ministry of Culture. Radiy Khabirov said that he would instruct to study this problem once more, and the republic would allocate the missing funds after that. “The Mari historical and cultural center should be open on time, and I will try to arrive at its opening,” said the head of the region. With the support of the House of Friendship of the Peoples of Bashkortostan, the historical and cultural center carries out significant work on the study, revival, preservation of historical, cultural values, traditions of the Mari people, on the development of folk crafts, on the protection, strengthening and development of the language of the Mari people.
