Bashkir Opera featured "The Little Humpbacked Horse" ballet extravaganza premiere

A premiere of the “The Little Humpbacked Horse” ballet extravaganza took place on the stage of the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater. The plot is based on the eponymous tale by Peter Ershov about the adventures of the peasant son Ivan. The music for the ballet was written by Rodion Shchedrin by order of the Bolshoi Theater in the late 1950s, the roles of Tsar Maiden and Firebird in different years were performed by the prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theater Maya Plisetskaya.
In Ufa, the ballet was staged by a famous dancer, choreographer, Honored Artist of Russia, laureate of international competitions, Premier of the Mikhailovsky Theater, guest soloist of the Bolshoi and Mariinsky Theaters, La Scala, the Bavarian Ballet and the American Ballet Theater Ivan Vasilyev. The leading soloists of the ballet troupe, as well as the choreographer himself, performed Ivan's part in three shows of the play on November 17th.
The artist Ivan Skladchikov created the colorful art deco decorations and stylized costumes. He is known to the Ufa spectator by the production of the opera Attila by J. Verdi.
The musical director and conductor of the play is Artem Makarov, Honored Artist of Bashkortostan, laureate of the Russian National Theater Award “Golden Mask”.
The assistant-choreographer of the performance was the prima ballerina of the theater, People’s Artist of Bashkortostan, laureate of the State Prize named after S. Yulaev, laureate and diploma winner of international competitions Gulsina Mavlyukasova, lighting designer - Sergey Shevchenko (Moscow), assistant to production designer Vladimir Kozlenkov.
Large families of the republic were the first to see the production. The pre-premiere show, which took place the day before, was attended by more than 45 large families living in Ufimsky, Blagovarsky, Blagoveshchensky and Ufa districts.
