On November 14, the Helikon Opera Moscow Theater will host the opening of the “Rudolf Nureyev Dressing Room” exhibition. The project dedicated to the great dancer is presented by the Helikon-Opera and the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater. The opening of the exhibition will be held on November 14 at 5.30 pm at 19/16, Bolshaya Nikitskaya Street.
According to the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater press service, the exposition is based on artifacts from the life and work of R. Nureyev donated to the Republic of Bashkortostan by the R. Nureyev International Fund on behalf of the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain.
These are travel documents, bags, and ballet shoes with the artist’s initials, the James costume from the ballet La Sylphide by H. Levenshold, playbills, stage makeup. None of the items presented were previously exhibited in Moscow.
The complete unique collection, consisting of 156 artifacts from the life and work of Rudolf Nureyev is in Ufa in the eponymous museum of the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater. This museum is the only museum in the world that acquaints visitors with the work of the unsurpassed dancer, choreographer, and teacher Rudolf Nureyev, who laid the foundation for a new development of male classical and modern ballet.
The exhibition "Dressing Room of Rudolf Nureyev" will be open to spectators until December 1, 2019.
