Musafir International Ethnic Music Forum is launched in Ufa

The ceremonial opening of the Musafir International Ethnic Music Forum took place in the Ufa Toratau Congress Hall. It takes place in the capital of Bashkortostan from November 10 to 12. The event brought together media managers, music critics, and ethnic groups from around the world. The Head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov sent greetings to the forum participants read by the Minister of Culture RB, Amina Shafikova.

“The forum is being held in Russia on such a scale for the first time. It will introduce listeners to the masterpieces of folk music from around the world. This project will unite our peoples with reliable ties of friendship”, the greetings say.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Culture RB, among the foreign guests of the Musafir forum are representatives of different countries, including the Netherlands, Great Britain, Germany, Cameroon, Africa, Thailand, Taiwan, China, and South Korea.

The concert was opened by the leading groups of the republic - the National Orchestra of Folk Instruments of the Republic of Bashkortostan, the ethnic group "Yatagan", the group "Kuraysy", the "Guzal-dance" studio.

On the first day, an ethnic tour was organized for international visitors. They got acquainted with the peculiarities of Bashkir culture: tasted national dishes, tried on national costumes, took part in masterclasses in traditional archery, and the basics of national dance. At a gala evening the foreign guests performed a fragment of the Bashkir dance.

On November 11-12, from 10 a.m., lectures and presentations by Russian and foreign experts will be held at the Toratau Congress Hall. In the evening, a showcase with performances of various Russian and foreign ethnic groups is planned in the “Ogni Ufy” recreation complex. Admission is free, registration is required on the official forum site - msfr.ru.
