One more holiday may appear in Bashkiria - National Costume Day

In Bashkiria, another holiday may appear - National Costume Day. This was announced by the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic Andrei Nazarov at a solemn meeting in honor of the Day of National Unity at the Bashkortostan State Concert Hall. He noted that the regional government had already prepared documents for the establishment of a new holiday. Presumably, it will be celebrated twice a year - on the third Friday of April and the second Friday of September.

“Representatives of 164 nationalities live in our republic. Each of them has its own historical and cultural features. The celebration of the national costume of the peoples of Bashkortostan will provide an opportunity to resort to the history and culture of our ancestors again, to promote immutable moral values among the younger generation, ”stressed the First Deputy Prime Minister.

Before the start of the solemn meeting, Andrei Nazarov examined the exhibition of decorative and applied art and traditional crafts. It presented expositions of historical and cultural centers of the House of Friendship of the Peoples of Bashkortostan and national-cultural public associations. Masters in the production of national costumes, musical instruments, and other products demonstrated their best works.

The National Museum of the Republic of Bashkortostan exhibited weapons of the 17th century for the first time and also introduced the guests to a new project - a virtual yurt.

In honor of the 25th anniversary of the House of Friendship of Peoples of Bashkortostan, a welcome address was read out on behalf of the Chairman of the Council of the Assembly of Peoples of Russia Svetlana Smirnova.

At the end of the festivities, a gala concert of creative groups and performers, artists of the republic was presented, the press service of the Ministry of Culture of Bashkiria reports.
