In Moscow, at the Central House of Writers, a ceremony was held to present the Golden Pen of Russia National Literary Prize. In the nomination "Humor", the honorary title "Golden Pen of Russia" was awarded to the Bashkir writer, laureate of international and Russian prizes Marcel Salimov for the satirical book "Selected for the Selected".
The award was presented to Marcel Salimov by the founders of the Golden Pen of Russia project Svetlana Savitskaya and Alexander Bukharov. Displaying on a large screen of a photo album dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Mustai Karim accompanied the awarding ceremony of the Bashkir writer.
The "Selected for the Selected" book was published at the Veche Publishing House in Moscow as a result of the author’s victory in a literary contest organized by the International Community of Writers' Unions.
The volume of selected works consists of five chapters and includes the best stories and feuilletons, super-novels and mini-novels, poems and fables, sketches, and essays of the writer. Among the translators, except the author were: Mikhail Volovik, Yamil Mustafin, Robert Pal, Nikolay Pereyaslov, Lira Salimova, Leonid Sokolov, Ivan Tertychny, Alexander Filippov, Marat Yamalov, Sergey Yanaki, Anatoly Yani and others.
The «Golden Pen of Russia» international contest is one of the most popular. All winners are included in the Honorary list of titleholders. In different years, the “Golden Pen of Russia” went to the outstanding masters of the pen, such as Yevgeny Evtushenko, Mikhail Zadornov, Rimma Kazakova, Mikhail Nozhkin, Yuri Polyakov, Sergey Lukyanenko.
The current jury of the National Literary Competition evaluated the works of more than 30 thousand representatives from 70 countries, published from January 1 to September 15, 2019.
