St. Petersburg will host Days of Bashkortostan Culture

The Days of Bashkir Culture and Education will be held in St. Petersburg as part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Bashkortostan on October 9-12. The program includes master classes, training seminars, lectures and meetings with students, Bashkir public organizations, exhibitions, and a concert of artists.

Masterclasses will be held for children and adults at the St. Petersburg House of Nationalities on October 9–11.

A busy program is expected on Republic Day on October 11th. The beginning of the event will be marked by a ceremony of laying flowers at the memorial plaque in honor of the founder of St. Petersburg Mining University, Ismail Tasimov, to the bust of A.-Z. Validi and to the memorial plate “To soldiers from Bashkortostan, to the heroic defenders of the city of Leningrad” in the Piskarevsky Memorial Complex.

A delegation from Bashkortostan led by the Deputy Chairman of the State Assembly, Chairman of the Presidium of the “World Kurultay (Congress) of Bashkirs” Elvira Aitkulova will visit St. Petersburg State University and the House of Friendship of the Leningrad Region.

The Friendship House of the Leningrad Region will host a presentation of the Museum of Bashkir Culture. The World Kurultay of Bashkir will present gifts to the museum - attributes, state symbols, folk instruments, and national costumes.

A flash mob is planned on this day - participants in the celebrations will jointly perform the Anthem of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

A meeting with students, Bashkir public organizations of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, will be held in the Friendship House of the Leningrad region. A screening of the feature film "Babich" directed by Bulat Yusupov and a meeting with the creative team are planned at 4.30 pm.

Events for children and parents will take place at the “Record” Youth House on October 12 (Lermontovsky Prospekt, 14 lit. A). Guests will be able to see various exhibitions: arts and crafts, books and the press, Bashkir souvenirs, ethnic jewelry and photo, and multimedia exhibitions.

A solemn event attended by representatives of official delegations of Bashkortostan and St. Petersburg will be the highlight of the Days of Bashkir Culture and Education in St. Petersburg. A concert of masters of the art of Bashkortostan and folklore groups of St. Petersburg will close the festivities. The headliner of the concert will be the Argymak band.
