Chelyabinsk Opera and Ballet Theater will show “Pagliacci” and “Rigoletto” in Ufa

The Chelyabinsk Academic Glinka Opera and Ballet Theater arrives on tour in Ufa. On October 3 and 4, Chelyabinsk singers will show two opera performances. According to the press service of the theater, the most famous opera by Ruggiero Leoncavallo “Pagliacci” directed by Pavel Sorokin will be shown on October 3. The production impresses with its original staging and unusual approach to the decoration.
The famous dynasty of theater artists developed the scenery, costumes, and make-up for the performance: Stepan Zohrabyan and Sofia Zohrabyan, winners of the Golden Mask National Theater Award.
The show will feature the leading soloists of the theater, laureate of all-Russian and international competitions Natalia Bystrik (Nedda/Colombina), laureate of the International Competition Pavel Chikanovsky (Canio/ Pagliacci), Yuri Nikitin (Tonio/Taddeo), Evgeny Bovykin (Silvio), laureate of the All-Russian competition Arthur Andriasyan (Beppo/Harlequin).
On October 4, Ufa residents will see “Rigoletto” by Giuseppe Verdi staged by the famous Russian director Vyacheslav Starodubtsev. Well-known artists from St. Petersburg and Moscow worked on the scenery of the performance: Peter Okunev, Zhanna Usacheva, Sergey Skornetskiy.
The lead part will be performed by the laureate of all-Russian and international competitions Alexander Silvestrov (Rigoletto). Elvira Avzalova, winner of international, national and republican contests, will appear in the role of Gilda.
The choir and supernumeraries of the Chelyabinsk M. I. Glinka State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater, as well as students of the Children's School of Vocal Art under the guidance of Honored Artist of Russia Boris Kaplun, will take part in the performances. The conductor is Alexander Matushkin.
