Bank of Russia issued commemorative coin in honor of Mustai Karim’s 100th anniversary

On September 5, the Bank of Russia issued a commemorative silver coin, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the national poet of Bashkortostan Mustai Karim.

According to the Mustai Karim Foundation, the new coin will replenish the series “Outstanding Personalities of Russia”. Its circulation will be 3 thousand units, face value - 2 rubles, the Bank of Russia reported. Besides, the series “Outstanding Personalities of Russia” will include a coin dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of small arms designer Mikhail Kalashnikov.

In 2018, in this series, the Bank of Russia issued coins in honor of the choreographer Marius Petipa, writer Maxim Gorky, astronomer, surveyor Vasily Struve and poet, actor Vladimir Vysotsky, in 2019 - a coin in honor of the 125th birthday of the writer Vitaliy Bianka.

100 years since the birth of Mustai Karim is marked on October 20, 2019. In accordance with the decree of the Government of Russia, the celebration of the anniversary will be held nationwide.

In honor of the 100th anniversary of Mustai Karim, a stamp and an envelope depicting the writer were issued in postal circulation.
