Bashkortostan will host "Folk-Time" contest in anticipation of 2020 World Folklore Festival

On September 27-28, Ufa will host the finals of the 2nd Republican contest of folk art "Folk Time". The contest is held in preparation for the World Folklore Festival - 2020, which will be a historic event for the residents of the republic.

Applications for participation in the competition are accepted from amateur groups conducting activities to restore and preserve the original folk cultural traditions. Performances of participants should be “live” (without a phonogram) and as authentic as possible, the center of folk art explains.

Nominations of the contest: “Vocal Performance”, “Vocal-Instrumental Performance”, “Instrumental Performance”, “Folklore Composition”. Participation in the contest will be evaluated according to four age groups: from 8 to 14 years (inclusive), from 15 to 21 years (inclusive), from 22 years and older, a mixed age group.

The second round and final events will be held in Ufa in the Toratau Congress Hall. The event is open to spectators who can attend free of charge both the competitive performances of the participants and participate in workshops in decorative arts and folk dances.
