Konstantin Tolkachev: “Silver Akbuzat” will serve to form national cinema

The 4th International Silver Akbuzat Film Festival, which will be held in Ufa on August 24-27, is not only one of the main cultural events of the year for the republic, but also an essential part of the national cinema formation process. This was stated by the Chairman of the State Assembly - Kurultay of the Republic of Bashkortostan Konstantin Tolkachev.
As part of the festival’s competitive program, 48 films will be screened in four days. Creative meetings, discussion platforms, and workshops are planned.
“Such communication is mutually enriching, it stimulates new ideas emerging. Ultimately, the film festival will serve the development of national cinema and will contribute to its going beyond the borders of a just regional cinema, ”said the Chairman of the republican parliament.
This year the Film Festival jury will be led by a theater and film actor, People's Artist of the RSFSR, USSR State Prize laureate Sergei Shakurov. Among the invited guests are Polish film director, screenwriter and producer, laureate of many international film festivals, Golden Lion winner of the Venice Film Festival Krzysztof Zanussi, Director General of the State Film Fund of the Russian Federation Nikolai Borodachev, editor-in-chief of the M. Gorky Children's and Youth Films Studio Andrei Apostolov, director "Tatarkino" Milyausha Aytuganova and others.
Films from Australia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, India, China, Myanmar, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Lithuania, Nepal, Moldova, Rwanda, Uzbekistan, France, and South Korea will be presented in the competition program of the 4th International Silver Akbuzat Film Festival.
Russia is represented by seven films from Bashkortostan, films from North Ossetia-Alania, Khakassia, the Chechen Republic, Tatarstan, Dagestan, Moscow and the region, Samara region, Buryatia, St. Petersburg, Yakutia. In total, applications from 34 subjects of the Russian Federation and 28 countries were received for the film festival.
