Climbing Mustai Karim Peak will be dedicated to his 100th anniversary

On October 20, 2019, in Bashkiria and outside of it, events will be held dedicated to the 100th birth anniversary of the national poet of Bashkortostan Mustai Karim.

In honor of this significant date, the Bashkir branch of the Russian Geographical Society will organize another expedition to the Caucasus with an ascent to Mustai Karim Peak. The height of the peak is 3700 m.

The group includes an experienced climber, climbing leader Alexander Lynnik, honored traveler of Russia, master of sports in tourism Oleg Lukyanov, head of the media group of the Russian Geographical Society, author of the program “My Planet - Bashkortostan” Rustam Sirazetdinov, “Ural Bars” No. 1 Oleg Chegodaev. The coordinator and initiator of the project is writer Kamil Ziganshin.

“Mustafa Safich has been to the Caucasus more than once; he loved this land, mountains and hospitable people. He had a great friendship with folk poets Kaisyn Kuliev, Rasul Gamzatov, Alim Keshokov, ”said Kamil Ziganshin.

The ascension schedule is planned to reach the highest peak on the poet’s birthday. It is planned to organize direct reporting from it via a satellite communication channel.
