Ufa composer Valery Skobelkin became winner of "AVANTI" All-Russian competition

The famous Ufa composer Valery Skobelkin became the winner of the 2nd All-Russian Competition of Composers "AVANTI".

His works won two third prizes. More than 200 applications from members of the Union of Composers of Russia from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Voronezh, Yekaterinburg, Omsk, Astrakhan, Novosibirsk, Kazan, Chelyabinsk, Surgut, Izhevsk, Kirov, and other cities were submitted to the competition.

The jury was chaired by the Russian composer, pianist, musicologist, Ph.D., teacher, professor, People’s Artist of the RSFSR, laureate of the RSFSR State Prize named after Glinka and the State Prize of the Russian Federation Sergei Slonimsky.

The final concert of the competition, which will feature compositions-laureates, will be held at the Small Hall of the P.I. Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory on September 30, 2019. The concert will be recorded by “Firma Melodiya” for further international distribution. The "Composer" publishing house will publish the awarded compositions.

Valery Skobelkin – is the Honored Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan, member of the Union of Composers of the Russian Federation and Bashkortostan, laureate of international competitions, head of the pop-jazz department, associate professor of the Z. Ismagilov Ufa State Institute of Arts.
