"The Lion King" set record for first weekend in Bashkiria

“The Lion King”, a modern remake of the classic 1994 cartoon from the Disney Studio about a brave lion cub named Simba, became the highest-grossing film of the summer of 2019 in Bashkiria, having collected 12.9 million rubles for the first weekend. Almost 60 thousand people watched the cartoon.

For comparison, the “Spiderman. Far from Home” by Marvel Studios in the first days of release collected 10.68 million, the second part of the cartoon “The Secret Life of Pets”- 6.9 million, a remake of the cartoon about “Aladdin”- 6.2 million.

According to the information system about movie screenings in cinemas, "The Lion King" 894 million rubles in Russian release collected over the weekend, a total of 3.26 million people have watched it.

In the general result of the year, the “Marvel” - “The Avengers: Endgame”, which brought more than 15 million on the first weekend in Bashkiria, and the Russian blockbuster T-34, which gathered 29 million during the eight days of the New Year holidays are still in the lead.
