Passengers of Moscow metro can now get acquainted with Bashkir culture

A photo exhibition “Monisto” timed to the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Bashkortostan, opened at the Metro gallery at Vystavochnaya station of the Moscow Metro. The photo project is exhibited not only in Russia, but also abroad: in the UK, Germany, Turkey, and Switzerland. Now the passengers of the Moscow metro can learn about the history and culture of the Bashkir people.
The author of the project is Gulnaz Galimullina. Thirty colorful pictures depict residents of the republic dressed in national costumes and with traditional decorations – Monisto (a necklace made of coins) on the background of old houses of Ufa. The exhibition consists of several series - "Memory", "Origins", "Youth", "Fragments", "Monisto". The opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by Counselor of the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan for Culture and Art, famous opera singer, Mariinsky Theater soloist Askar Abdrazakov, authorized representative of Bashkortostan under the President of the Russian Federation Roman Simanduev, Minister of Culture RB Amina Shafikova, deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, chairman of the board of the “Citizenship of Bashkortostan” association Inga Yumasheva, Deputy Head of the Moscow Metro for Personnel Management Pavel Kovalev.
The guests enjoyed not only beautiful photos but also Bashkir dances. The Moscow ensemble of the Bashkir dance “Altyn Ai”, a member of the “Saptar” kurai ensemble Islam Ilimbetov and the folk ensemble “Ak Tirme” took part in the opening ceremony of the exposition. All visitors were treated with oriental dessert - chak-chak.
Admission to the exhibition in the gallery is free, it is open during the metro hours from 6:00 to 1:00.
