"Kalina Krasnaya" performance by Vasily Shukshin will be shown in Ufa

On June 9, the only show of the “Kalina Krasnaya” play based on the work by Vasily Shukshin will take place on the stage of the Russian Academic Theater. The performance will be brought by the Moscow State Academic Theater "Russian Song".

According to the press service of the theater, the director of the play is Dmitry Petrun. The lead character, which was performed by Shukshin himself in the famous film, is played by Andrei Merzlikin and Yuri Kataev. They have to rethink and convey to the viewer the controversial, unpredictable, complex image of Egor.

“Kalina Krasnaya” is a musical performance. The music complements the text of Shukshin, reveals new deep meanings, helps to come closer to understanding such a contradictory and bottomless soul of the Russian person. Lyrical, humorous, round-dance, spiritual songs and romances that form a whole layer of traditional Russian culture will be performed by Nadezhda Babkina and the theater collectives of the Russian Song ensemble, the Slavs folklore group, the Living Planet ballet, the folk-rock group “Posle 11”, the Brothers Bondarenko accordionist duo play.
