“Attila” by Ildar Abdrazakov will be most large-scale performance in Bashkir Opera history

On April 27-28 and May 4-5, the premiere of the Attila opera by G. Verdi will take place on the stage of the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater.
The Attila opera will be a directorial debut of the two-time Grammy winner, People’s Artist of Bashkortostan and Tatarstan, laureate of the Russian National Theater Golden Mask Award Ildar Abdrazakov. The artist can be called a record holder in the number of Attila's incarnations on the world opera stage. The operas with the participation of Ildar Abdrazakov, performing the lead part, took place in New York, Rome, Barcelona, Monte Carlo, St. Petersburg, Astana. In 2018, La Scala opened Verdi's opera season “Attila” by Verdi, with Ildar Abdrazakov also starring.
On the first premiere day and on May 5, Ildar Abdrazakov will play the lead role, in the second - People’s Artist of Bashkortostan Askar Abdrazakov, on the third - Honored Artist of Bashkortostan Arthur Kaipkulov.
The performance is large-scale; in total, more than 400 costumes were created for the opera, which were manually painted by the masters of the theater. Currently, Attila by G. Verdi will be the largest opera production in the history of the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater.
Musical Director and Conductor is the Honored Artist of the Republic of Bashkortostan, laureate of the Russian National Theater Award “Golden Mask” Artem Makarov. Production Designer - Ivan Skladchikov (Moscow). Choreographer: Honored Artist of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic, laureate of the Salavat Yulaev’s State Prize of the Republic of Bashkortostan, Irina Filippova. Choirmaster - laureate of international and All-Russian competitions Alexander Alekseev. Lighting designer - Irina Vtornikova.
Invited soloists: Honored Artist of Russia, laureate of the National Theater Prize Golden Mask Yevgeny Akimov (Mariinsky Theater), winner of international competitions and prizes Vasily Ladyuk (Novaya Opera Theater), Honored Artist of Bashkortostan Sergey Skorokhodov (Mariinsky Theater), Honored Worker of Kazakhstan (Astana Opera) Zhupar Gabdullina.
Soloists of the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater: Honored Artist of Bashkortostan, diploma holder and laureate of International and Open Republican Contests Larisa Akhmetova; Honored Artist of Bashkortostan, laureate of the Second National Opera Prize “Onegin”, laureate of international and Open Republican Contests Artur Kaipkulov; Honored Artist of Bashkortostan, winner of the All-Russian and Open Republican Contests Vladimir Kopytov; and others.
