Vietnamese delegation met with veteran of Fayzi Gaskarov Dance Ensemble in Ufa

A delegation of Vietnam visited Ufa to participate in jubilee celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the republic. As part of their trip, the guests visited the Faizi Gaskarov State Folk Dance Ensemble, where they met with the honorary veteran of the Gaskarov Ensemble, Honored Artist of BASSR Ekaterina Varlamova.

“Last year, Ngo Duc Manh, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, came to Ufa. He was handed over archival photographs with Ho Chi Minh captured with our artists during a historic tour of the Bashkir State Folk Dance Ensemble to Vietnam in 1955. The Vietnamese side was surprised by such rare pictures and became interested in the participants of that very first trip of the ensemble”, the press service of the ensemble informs.

At the meeting, the first secretary of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation, Le Chung Hieu, presented Ekaterina Varlamova with memorable gifts and expressed his gratitude for participating in such significant events and keeping archival photographs. The guests also expressed great appreciation and gratitude to all participants of the trip to Vietnam in 1955. The ensemble from Bashkiria became the first Soviet creative team to visit Vietnam after its independence.
