Vladimir Spivakov: "I like that national art is supported in Bashkiria"

Vladimir Spivakov is a famous violinist and conductor, art director of two bright and successful associations - the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia and the State Chamber Orchestra "Moscow Virtuosi", People's Artist of the USSR, People's Artist of Bashkortostan, world artist of UNESCO, author of the book "Transiences". On the eve of the 100th anniversary of Bashkortostan, Vladimir Teodorovich gave an interview to the journalist of the Bashinform News Agency.
The musician never forgets that he was born in Ufa, and tries to put his heart in the cultural development of his native city. He was awarded the title of honorary citizen of the capital of Bashkortostan. Spivakov says that his hometown is associated primarily with Rudolf Nureyev. The musician had a chance to meet the great dancer in his youth in Los Angeles, where they had a parallel tour. Another Ufa citizen highly respected by Spivakov is the great Russian artist Mikhail Nesterov.
“I really like the fact that national art is supported in Bashkiria. There are great artists here”, says the maestro.
Among the outstanding Ufa residents the musician marked and the national poet of Bashkortostan Mustai Karim:
“His 100th anniversary, which is celebrated in 2019, is a holiday not only for Bashkortostan, but for all of us, and is a memory of the past when we lived in one big, strong enough, happy family.”
At the initiative of Vladimir Spivakov, the International Festival “Vladimir Spivakov Invites” and the Vladimir Spivakov International Competition of Violinists are held in Ufa. The Vladimir Spivakov Music School of Young Talents has opened in Salavat. The Vladimir Spivakov Charity Foundation in Bashkortostan actively supports gifted children in the republic.
