Russian ballet stars highly appreciated Ufa company level

In Ufa, the star of the world ballet scene Ivan Vasilyev performed the lead male role in the Don Quixote ballet. The performance took place at the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater. The Don Quixote of Minkus was staged in Ufa by the People’s Artist of the USSR Yury Grigorovich in 1995 and since then has been successfully performed on the theater stage.

The invited soloist of "La Scala" and the Bavarian ballet, performing with the companies of the Bolshoi Theater, Mariinsky Theater, Novosibirsk Theater, with the ballet company of the Rome Opera, Ivan Vasilyev highly appreciated the Ufa stage and the level of the company. “Here, in Ufa, there is a pleasant atmosphere on the stage, wonderful artists, a wonderful partner,” he shared with journalists.

The performer of the lead women's part, prima ballerina Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater, Honored Artist of Russia, People’s Artist of Bashkortostan Guzel Suleymanova said that they had only one rehearsal with her partner. According to Guzel Suleymanova, every ballerina dreams to dance in Don Quixote. The performance stands out among the classical productions by its lightness and perkiness.

According to Leonora Kuvatova, art director of the ballet company of the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater, the theater will still have joint projects with Ivan Vasilyev. Besides, the Premier of the Bolshoi Theater, Honored Artist of Russia Mikhail Lobukhin danced on the stage of the Bashkir Theater on February 22. He performed the role of Spartacus in the ballet of the same name by Aram Khachaturian, staged by Yuri Grigorovich.
