Birthday of great Russian singer Fyodor Chaliapin will be celebrated in Ufa

The significant date associated with the name of the great Russian singer Fyodor Shalyapin is celebrated throughout the world. Memorable events will be held in Ufa on February 13, the day of the 146th anniversary of the birth of the world famous bass.
By tradition, flowers will be laid at the monument to the young Fyodor Shalyapin, in whose creative biography Ufa played a significant role. Here an opera debut of the artist took place in 1890.
On February 15, the traditional interregional scientific-practical conference "Chaliapin Readings" will take place at the Concert Hall of the Ufa Institute of Arts, beginning at 14.00. Among the declared reports there are works of authors from the cities of Bashkortostan, Moscow, Riga.
“In February, we are also preparing Rachmaninov’s evening in the Chaliapin exhibition hall,” said Elena Zamriy, the chairman of the Ufa branch of the Chaliapin’s center. “The Ufa libraries are very active: many of them will host meetings and exhibitions devoted to Chaliapin.”
