World ballet star Ivan Vasilyev will perform in Ufa in "Don Quixote" ballet

The world ballet star Ivan Vasilyev will perform in the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater. On February 27, the lead of the Mikhailovsky Theater (St. Petersburg), Honored Artist of Russia Ivan Vasilyev will perform the part of Basil in the ballet Ludwig Minkus “Don Quixote”.

Ivan Vasiliev is a guest soloist of La Scala and Bavarian Ballet. He performs with the companies of the Bolshoi Theater, the Mariinsky Theater, the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater, the ballet troupe of the Roman Opera. On the stage of the Mikhailovsky Theater, Ivan performs the leading roles in the ballets Don Quixote, La Bayadère, The Flame of Paris, Swan Lake, Corsair, Sleeping Beauty, Laurencia, Giselle, or Vilisa, Halt of Cavalry, Vain Precaution, Concert Class, Sylphide.

In 2015, Vasiliev made his debut as a choreographer on the stage of the Barvikha Luxury Village Concert Hall with a premiere of Ballet No. 1 in his production. In 2016 he released three one-act ballets “Morphine”, “Blind Communication” and “Bolero”, which were included in the repertoire of the Mikhailovsky Theater. In May 2016, the “Love is Everywhere” ballet with choreography by Ivan Vasilyev was shown on the stage of the Bolshoi Theater of Russia.

"Don Quixote" became the second ballet, staged at the Bashkir Theater by the People's Artist of the USSR Yury Grigorovich. Kitri part will be performed by prima ballerina of Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater, Honored Artist of Russia, People’s Artist of Bashkortostan, laureate of the S. Yulaev State Prize and the Republican S. Babich Youth Prize Guzel Suleymanova. The Honored Art Worker of Bashkortostan Herman Kim will conduct the ballet.
