Criminal case on air pollution in Sibay is initiated - Bashkiria prosecutor's office

In Bashkortostan, a criminal case was initiated by the prosecutor's office regarding violation of rules for emitting substances into the atmosphere in the city of Sibay. The press service of the supervisory authority said that checks showed repeated exceeding the maximum allowable concentration of various harmful substances there.

The cause of air pollution is an accumulation of smoke from pollutants released during oxidation of ore in the unexploited copper ore mine, which is leased to the Sibay branch of Uchalinsky Mining Plant. The city prosecutor's office sent the checks’ materials to the investigating authorities to start the criminal prosecution of the perpetrators. As a result, the police department opened a criminal case on the Article "air pollution".

The environmental prosecutor's office monitors the activities of the authorized control and supervisory authorities involved in investigating and eliminating the causes of air pollution in the city of Sibay.
