"Seven Stars" performance based on Bashkir legend was staged in Ufa

A premiere of the choreographic play "Seven Stars" was held in the Bashkortostan State Concert Hall in the framework of the concert of the "Renaissance" folk dance theater. The production is based on the Bashkir legend about seven girls. The performance is a modern interpretation of the ancient legend, reflections on the topic of freedom.

The audience saw an unusual performance - a synthesis of modern choreography, music, ethnic instruments, electronics, and sand animation. The project was implemented on the grant of the All-Russian Youth Educational Forum "Tavrida-2017". The author of the project is a young composer Virinea Belousova.

“The very idea of staging the legend in a new way emerged in 2012. The director Raushaniya Ayupova invited me to write music for the play. I was inspired by a version of the legend when girls turned into seven stars of the Big Dipper and illuminated the way for people”, Virinea shared with the Bashinform News Agency.

The well-known choreographer Olga Daukaeva (head of the “MezhduTantsam” studio) and one of the performers Renata Kritzkaya were invited to work on the project. In 2017, Virinea won a grant of 100 thousand at the All-Russian Youth Educational Forum "Tavrida".

“This amount was planned to be spent on decorations and costumes. Since the project is complex, requiring good rehearsal facilities, trained dancers and the stage, we turned to Alexander Rodionov, the head of the Renaissance Dance Theater. He got interested in the project and helped us to implement it on the stage”, Virinea said.

The production involved the performers - Zarina Kinzina, Renata Kritskaya, Albina Faizullina (vocal), Alisa Cherepanova, Evgenia Imaeva, Lyaysan Nabiullina, Radmila Biglova, ethnic group “Yatagan”. Electronic music - Magulya Mezinova, LIVE electronics - Rustam Imamov.
