This year, the 80th anniversary of the famous dancer and choreographer Rudolf Nureyev is celebrated around the world. In Russia, the year 2018 is declared the Year of Ballet. The international cultural project "Nureyev Seasons" is devoted to these significant events.
On November 10, within the framework of the project, the Nureyev Seasons Film Festival opened in the Philharmonia-2 Virtual Hall. At the opening of the film festival, a short feature film by Bashkir director Bulat Yusupov “Visit” dedicated to Rudolf Nureyev was shown. A theater and cinema actress Laura Keosayan took part in the meeting with the audience.
On November 15, the documentary film “Rudolf Nureyev. Rebellious Demon” produced by "Svoy Pocherk" film company (scriptwriter and director Tatyana Malova) was shown. The film was presented by a producer of the film, well-known screenwriter and TV journalist Alfiya Chebotareva and a prominent Bashkir writer and journalist Marcel Salimov.
Alfiya Chebotareva talked about the creators, about a presenter of the film - the national artist of Russia Andris Liepa, who spoke with Rudolf Nureyev, about the shooting in Bashkortostan and abroad. Marcel Salimov told about the Ufa period of Rudolf Nureyev’s life, about cultural events in the republic dedicated to the 80th anniversary of his birth, about how Bashkirs people keep the memory of their great countryman.
“In this regard, the international project “Nureyev Seasons” is of great importance”, he said.
Currently, work is underway on several other documentaries about the legendary dancer. It is also planned to publish a booklet and organize a photo exhibition dedicated to Rudolf Nureyev with rare photos from archives, memoirs, and autographs of famous cultural figures. Until March 2019, documentary films about Rudolf Nureyev and feature films will be shown at the film festival. It is planned to carry out events in Ufa, Kazan, St. Petersburg, as well as with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo - abroad: in Italy, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Hungary.
