Bashkir artists became laureates of “Siberia Grand Prix” ballet competition

UFA, 16 November 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. The Krasnoyarsk State Opera and Ballet Theater named after D. A. Khvorostovsky hosted the 5th International Forum “21st Century Ballet” dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the outstanding choreographer Marius Petipa.
The large-scale project was held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the administration of the city of Krasnoyarsk, the International Federation of Ballet Competitions under the patronage of the Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
The central event of the forum was the 5th International Ballet Competition “Siberia Grand Prix”, which brought together the best young dancers from 11 countries of the world.
The jury chaired by the USSR People's Artist Yury Grigorovich announced the names of the laureates, winners and special prizes at a Gala Concert of the contest laureates, which was held at the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theater.
Representatives of the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theater were on the podium, the press service of the theater reported. This is Alice Alekseeva, who won the first prize among women, and Shota Onodera, who won the second prize among men.
Also, Alice and Shota were awarded a special prize and a diploma “For the best performance of the Marius Petipa choreography” (“Talisman”).
The main prize was won by the leading soloist of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and Ballet Theater George Bolsunovsky.
