Russian theaters celebrate Chinghiz Aitmatov's 90th birthday with new productions

UFA, 12 October 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. Theaters of Russia celebrate the 90th anniversary of the Soviet classic, the outstanding Kyrgyz prose writer Chingiz Aitmatov (1928 - 2008).

The M. Gafuri Bashkir Drama Theater staged a play based on the story by Chingiz Aitmatov “The White Cloud of Genghis Khan”. The staging of the book was created by Elena Baranchikova.

The main director of the Youth Theater Musalim Kulbaev was invited to make a staging. Rehearsals have already begun, but a premiere is expected only in January, the theater reports.

A performance by Aitmatov is also being prepared in the neighboring republic. The G. Kamal Kazan Drama Theater works on production based on the novel “A Day Lasts for More than a Century”. As Tatar-Inform reports, the premiere is scheduled for November 4, 5, 6 and 7. The director is Ilgiz Zayniev, the artist - Gennady Skomorokhov, the composer - Elmir Nizamov, the choreographer, a native of Bashkortostan, Salima Aminova.
