Vladimir Spivakov's Competition winner will receive violin worth $ 140 thousand

UFA, 18 September 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. The winner of the 2nd Vladimir Spivakov International Violin Competition will receive a violin worth 140 thousand dollars in Ufa.
Details about the unique instrument were told by the maestro himself and the violin maker Julie Reed. The tool was created in 1912 by the famous Italian master Riccardo Antoniazzi. The violin was purchased by the Vyacheslav Kantor Foundation and is in perfect condition.
The main prize will be awarded to the winner of the competition at a gala concert in the "Bashkortostan" State Concert Hall on September 21.
The maestro specified the cost of other prizes. The violin of the work by Jules Grangjon (Paris, 1848) costing 40 thousand dollars will be awarded to the winner of the second prize. The instrument by Igor Ulitsky (Moscow, 2017) costs 18-20 thousand dollars; it will be awarded to the third prize winner.
In Russia, such a contest, where awards are not money, but instruments, is also held in Omsk. It has the name of Vladimir Spivakov’s teacher - Yuri Yankelevich who was born and taught there.
As Maestro Spivakov admitted, he could not have bought an instrument that would satisfy him for his whole life.
"I like the instruments by Stradivari. I play the instrument that does not belong to me, but it is given to me for lifetime use – the instrument of 1712-1713. The wood from which this violin was made is even older; I think that it is 400 years old. I call my violin "Lyubasha", the maestro confessed.
