Bashkortostan pays attention to cooperation development with Iran - Rustem Khamitov

The Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov met with the head of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization of Iran Abuzar Ebrahimi Torkaman. Issues of cooperation between the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Islamic Republic of Iran in the sphere of culture, education, and science were discussed at the meeting.

Rustem Khamitov recalled that last year our republic hosted the first Russian-Iranian socio-cultural forum. This year Bashkortostan and Moscow were honored to meet the Week of Iranian Culture in Russia. The head of the region expressed his hope that the holding of Russian-Iranian forums in our republic would become a good tradition and invited Iran to take part in international forums and the World Folklore Festival 2020 to be held in Bashkortostan.

“We plan to continue the interaction between the Bashkir and Iranian cultural and art organizations. Direct cultural cooperation between the regions of Russia and Iran is strengthening. Soon we will sign an agreement with the Central Province of Iran. This agreement will determine the development of our bilateral partnership, "said Rustem Khamitov.

“The formation of cultural cooperation between the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Islamic Republic of Iran will be beneficial for all of us. We have quite a lot of cultural ties with the Republic of Bashkortostan. Our customs, traditions, cultures are very similar", said Abuzar Ebrahim Torkaman.

Abuzar Ebrahim Torkaman noted that the agreement, in particular, implied holding of joint festivals, film festivals, cross-cultural days of Bashkortostan and Iran.
