Bashkortostan Honored Artist Alfiya Karimova sang in Turkish premiere of "Carmina Burana"

UFA, 27 June 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. A concert was held in the Concert Hall "Odeon" of Bilkent University in Ankara. The famous stage cantata "Carmina Burana" by Carl Orff was performed there.

The Turkish premiere conducted by Christoph Poppen featured the artists: soprano, Astana Opera soloist, honored artist of Bashkortostan Alfiya Karimova (Bashkortostan, Russia), tenor Ilham Nazarov (Azerbaijan), baritone Arda Aktar (Turkey) and choirs of Astana and Almaty (Kazakhstan).

The event was organized by the International Organization of Turkic Culture TURKSOY in cooperation with the Chamber Choir of the State Philharmonic Society of Astana under the direction of choirmaster Gulmira Kuttybadamova, polyphonic chorus of Almaty State Philharmonic Society with the participation of Turkic opera stars.

The Chamber Choir of the State Academic Philharmonic of Astana city also gave a concert in Ankara.
