Sabantui turned into multinational festival in London
UFA, 25 June 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/ translated by Tatiana Aksyutina/. More than 200 fans of Tatar and Bashkir culture gathered in Forest Lane Park of London for the traditional Sabantui festival.
The national festival has been held for several years in London by the initiative members of the Association of Tatars and Bashkirs of Great Britain "Zaman".
Bright costumes, songs, dances, verses, theatrical scenes, games for adults and children, exhibition-sale of folk art, honey, pies, photo-exhibition of national costumes - all this became an attraction of the main festival of the Tatars and Bashkirs residing here.
The concert program included not only Bashkir and Tatar performances, but also Uzbek, Kyrgyz, Bulgarian dances, Russian and Bulgarian songs.
"It is gratifying that all the guests of the festival actively participated in the Sabantui - we danced together, got acquainted, shared impressions, sang along and participated in games! This wonderful holiday showed the beauty and unity of our cultures, the richness of the language and the resilience of character", Aisilu Yanturina-Darles, a staff member of the UN agency shared with the Bashinform News Agency. "Every year this holiday is getting richer, brighter, and more intense, with more and more guests from different cities and countries striving to get here".
