New film by Konstantin Khabensky "Sobibor" will be discussed in Ufa

UFA, 11 May 2018. /Bashinform News Agency, Leila Aralbaeva/. A new film and the first directing work of Konstantin Khabensky "Sobibor" will be shown and discussed in Ufa at the Political Cinema Laboratory.

The event will be held on May 11. The beginning is at 18.30 in the "Rodina" cinema.

The moderator of the event will be a project manager, associate professor of the Political Science, Sociology and Philosophy Department of Bashkir Academy of Public Administration, a candidate of political science Sergey Lavrentiev.

On December 14, 1943, an uprising of inmates broke out in the Nazi extermination camp Sobibor. The uprising of the doomed, humiliated, weakened physically and spiritually prisoners was led by the Soviet officer Alexander Pechersky. Having escaped from the camp with a group of comrades, he was able to join the guerilla fighters, continued to participate in the battles, survived and already in the 1960-s wrote a small book of his memories of the uprising in Sobibor. A script was based on the fate of the hero.

The film was presented to Ufa townspeople within the framework of the international presentation by Konstantin Khabensky on April 29.
